Board of Directors

Our Board of Directors is made up of versatile and experienced professionals headed by Paul Usoro (SAN).


Paul Usoro (SAN) (Chairman of the Board of Directors)
He is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Marina Securities Limited.

Paul has been in private legal practice for the past 29 years with a bias for commercial legal practice, both as litigators and transactional lawyers.

Apart from being a foremost litigator, Usoro is also acclaimed as Nigeria’s leading communications law expert. He has led his Firm (Paul Usoro & CO) in working on most if not all of Nigeria’s big ticket communications transactions and matters, spanning licensing and regulatory matters, project finance, capitalization and service delivery.

His pioneering works in the telecommunication industry in Nigeria is evidenced by appointment at various times as the Legal Consultant for Nigeria’s first-ever spectrum auction in 2001 which produced the Nigeria’s GSM operators, namely MTN Communications Limited, Econet Wireless Nigeria Limited and Nigerian Telecommunications Limited (“NITEL”) and later Globacom Limited.

He also worked with the National Assembly to prepare the Nigerian Communications Act 2003. This legislation has provided the underpinning for Nigeria’s communication industry and six years on, it remains model legislation locally and internationally.

On the commercial side, Usoro’s experience and skills have been most diverse. He negotiated Akwa Ibom State’s 2001 investment in Celtel Nigeria Limited (then Econet Nigeria Limited) in the aggregate sum of US$67,500,000.00 and represented the State on the Board of the Company up till 2006 when the State, along with other majority shareholders, sold their shares to Celtel Nigeria BV. Thereafter, he chaired the V-Mobile Shareholders’ Committee which facilitated the direct foreign investment of US$1bn by Vee Networks Limited into Nigeria.

Usoro’s transactional and commercial experience goes beyond the communications sector. His Firm is retained by a wide range of blue-chip Nigerian and foreign organizations and he has led his Firm’s team in working for a number of these establishments in the areas of project finance and development, equity raising ventures, infrastructure developments, management buy-outs.

In his career as a legal practitioner, Paul Usoro belongs to several professional bodies including the following amongst many others Nigerian and International Bar Association, Telecommunications Lawyers Association of Nigeria, Communications Bar Association of the United States of America and Communications Committee of the Business Law Section of the Nigerian Bar Association.

Paul is well versed with Corporate Governance and Regulatory issues and currently sits on the Board of Directors of several companies amongst which are Airtel Nigeria Limited and Premium Pension Limited, one of Nigeria’s leading Pension Funds Administrators.

Paul’s interest spans Advocacy and Alternative Dispute Resolution, Legal Consultancy and Advisory Legal Drafting, Negotiations, People Management and Strategic Initiatives.

Idaere Gogo Ogan (Director)
Idaere Ogan has a first degree in Economics from the University of Port Harcourt, Rivers State (1987) and a Masters in Business Administration in International Finance from the Middlesex University, London (1993).

He commenced his professional career with Johnson & Johnson Consultants London between 1989 and 1991 where he was involved in providing advisory services to clients and structuring of investment in bonds, Gilt-edged products, life assurance, mutual funds and mortgages on their behalf.

He started his career in Banking in Nigeria by joining the erstwhile All States Trust Bank as a Business Development Manager in charge of relationship winning, building and management, analysis, structuring and approval of credit transactions, budget preparation, implementation and monitoring, investment analysis, product development and macro-economic analysis.

He left All States Trust Bank to join Guaranty Trust Bank Plc as the Group Head in 1996 and remained there till 1998. While at Guaranty Trust Bank Plc, Idaere was responsible for managing a wide portfolio of active corporate accounts in Household and Pharmaceutical Sectors of the Corporate Banking Group, preparation of monthly budget/account profitability report, management of Group Risk Asset and ensuring compliance with the bank’s credit policies and development of account managers as entrepreneur and business strategist.

Idaere left GTB PLC to start his private business as the Chairman/CEO of Riverside Group of Companies comprising of Becca Petroleum & Gas Ltd, Cordero Engineering Services Ltd, Calvary Airlines Travel & Logistics Ltd and Value Stream Investment Limited.

As the Group CEO, he is primarily responsible for the development of broad strategic marketing plan and setting up of the corporate goals and objectives for the Group. He oversees the implementation and monitoring of the group budget, internal controls and financial performance of the group. As a strategist, he seeks for opportunities to create synergetic business relationships with local and foreign technical partners to increase shareholder value by delivering on their contractual services to their clients.

Idaere is equally versed in Corporate Governance matters as he currently sits on the Board of Standard Trust Assurance Ltd (STACO) Chairs the Audit committee of STACO. He is a member of the Audit Committee of Access Bank PLC in addition to chairing a well structured board of Riverside Group of Companies.

Angela Jide Jones (Director)
Angela Jide-Jones received a B.Sc. Degree in Economics at the University of Benin, an MBA (Marketing) at Enugu State University, and M.Sc. (Investment Management) at Cass Business School of City University, UK. She is also an alumnus of the Harvard Business School's Program for Management Development and the Institute for management development (IMD) Lausanne, Switzerland.

With a banking experience that spans over 15 years, she has over time built core competencies in new business development and negotiation skills leveraging on them to establish a reputation of consistent exceptional performance in the Nigerian banking industry. Currently, a General Manager in charge wealth management in Access Bank Plc Angela has over the years established herself as a performer per excellence; winning different awards and commendations.

Angela is a member of the Nigerian Institute of Bankers and the Nigeria Institute of Management.

Chizoba Ufoeze (Director)
Chizoba holds a 1992 B.Sc in Urban and Regional Planning from University of Nigeria, Enugu, a Masters Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from Middlesex University Business School London, and another Masters Degree in Investment Management from City University Business School, London. Chizoba Ufoeze has extensive experience in equity, fixed income products, financial advisory and portfolio management in both the Nigerian and International markets.

Jibola Odedina (Chief Executive Officer)
Mr. 'Jibola Odedina is the CEO of Marina Securities Limited. He holds a double Bachelors of Business Administration (BBA) degree in Finance and Economics, both from the University of Texas at Arlington, Texas, USA. He has over seventeen years experience in funds and portfolio management, securities trading, property development and management. He is an authorized dealing clerk of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (June 1995). Jibola is currently a member of the Securities & Exchange Commission National Committee on the Review of Registrars Operations and IT Infrastructure and serves as Secretary to the Association of Stockbroking Houses of Nigeria (ASHON) Capacity Building and Rapid Skill Enhancement Sub-Committee.
Aig Aig-Imoukhuede (Director, Wealth Management) Aig is a graduate of Business Studies (Administration) from the University of Buckingham, UK He is currently the Director Wealth Management in charge of business development and relationship management in Marina Securities Limited. Before now he was with First Bank of Nigeria PLC, Corporate Banking Directorate, which he joined after the recent merger between First Bank Merchant Bankers, MBC International Bank Ltd (MBC) and First Bank of Nigeria PLC.
